happiness

you tell me

you'd prefer
feeling dead

because you know
happiness is like a drug

and you don't notice
if it's affecting you
until you're

slurring words like:

and i am speechles
momentarily knowing
it's short-term

(but then you crash)

and once you feel
dead again

you feel addicted
&
you want more

so you cry because
you cannot amount
to what happiness
is truly worth.
